This was life between 2009 and 2015. Together with my best friend, we scaled our London based fashion brand Bitching and Junkfood to export to over 50 markets worldwide.
With Rhianna, Rita Ora and many other female performers as fans of the label, we spearheaded the first wave of digital fashion brands and this is where I felt at home as a creative director.
In 2009 I got bored with my safe and well-paid and secure job as a fashion buyer, moved out of my comfortable apartment in Brixton to a freezing cold warehouse in Hackney Wick and decided to start a fashion label called Bitching and Junkfood.
Six months later my best friend joined the business and from very humble beginnings and a bucket load of determination we built a 5K startup to a gloabl brand exporting to over 50 countries worldwide and manufacturing in China, Turkey and locally in London.
We designed for pretty much every top female performer at the time and were a recogniseable brand on the emerging festival circuit. We counted Rihanna, Rita Ora, Iggy Azaelea, Jessie J and many more as fans of the brand.
